Mykonos Perfume UK: The Viral Indonesian Fragrance Brand Ready to Disrupt the UK Dupe Market

The UK fragrance scene is changing fast.

For years, fragrance lovers in Britain have searched for one thing: perfumes that smell expensive, perform well, and do not demand luxury-brand prices. That is exactly why the dupe fragrance market has exploded. Mintel notes that UK consumers are increasingly turning to dupes, discounts and minis, while reporting carried by The Guardian says half of surveyed fragrance buyers in the UK had already bought a dupe perfume. In other words, the appetite is already here.

Now a new name is entering that conversation in a serious way: Mykonos.

Mykonos is a fast-rising fragrance brand from Indonesia that has quickly built a strong following through social media, affordable pricing, broad scent variety and a catalogue that clearly understands what modern fragrance buyers want. Fragrantica lists Mykonos as a new Indonesian fragrance brand with 74 perfumes launched in 2025, while the official Mykonos store shows a wide range of releases across floral, fruity, gourmand, powdery, aquatic-aromatic and oriental scent families.

That scale matters.

This is not a brand with one or two viral bottles and no depth behind the hype. Mykonos has built a full fragrance universe.

Just as importantly, Mykonos has not stayed niche within Indonesia. The brand’s official FAQ says it is available through retail channels such as Guardian, Sociolla and Beautyhaul, and that it can ship to markets including Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Dubai, Brunei and the Philippines. Its Instagram profile shows a following of roughly 700,000 people, which helps explain why the brand is now being discussed so heavily across fragrance content online.

Why is Mykonos getting so much attention?

Because it understands the current fragrance market better than many older brands do.

Today’s consumer wants more than a pretty bottle. They want compliments. They want performance. They want trend relevance. And increasingly, they want scents that give them the feeling of luxury fragrance without the full luxury price tag. That is where Mykonos has found its lane.

Across fragrance content online, Mykonos keeps appearing in conversations around high-value alternatives to premium scents. Dreamscape is being discussed by reviewers as a God of Fire-style scent, while Inception is repeatedly compared to Louis Vuitton Imagination in community reviews and social content. Fragrantica user reviews for Inception directly describe it as one of the better Imagination-style options, and social clips around Dreamscape frame it as a God of Fire-inspired affordable pick.

That matters in the UK.

British fragrance buyers are no longer only looking for “cheap copies.” They are looking for well-made, wearable, luxury-inspired perfumes that feel exciting in their own right. The strongest dupe brands are winning because they combine familiarity with performance, presentation and accessibility. That is exactly why Mykonos feels timely.

Why Mykonos could disrupt the UK dupe game

The UK dupe market is already crowded, but much of it still feels predictable. Many brands rely on the same familiar inspirations, the same plain presentation, and the same formula of “smells like X for less.”

Mykonos offers something fresher.

First, the brand already has a broad and trend-aware catalogue. From gourmand releases like Cafe Drops, Matcha Latte, Milk Drops and Pink Drops to fresher profiles like California Blue and more luxurious-feeling options like Monaco Royale, Utopia and Affair, the line-up is built for modern taste, content culture and fast-moving fragrance trends.

Second, Mykonos clearly understands collaboration culture. The official store shows branded collaborations including Mykonos x RRQ, Mykonos x AlterEgo, Mykonos x SetiawanAde and Mykonos x Sapeyeeee. That tells you this is a brand comfortable with hype, communities, creators and digital storytelling. In today’s fragrance economy, that is a serious commercial advantage.

Third, the brand already has international momentum. It is not being introduced into the UK as an unknown experiment. It is arriving with strong social proof, active online discussion, a fast-growing catalogue and visible consumer interest across multiple markets.

Why Fragrance Forte is bringing Mykonos to the UK

At Fragrance Forte, we pay attention to what fragrance buyers actually want.

We know the UK market is hungry for standout scents with real value. We know shoppers want fragrances that feel current, smell addictive and punch above their price point. And we know that the best brands in this space are the ones that do not just follow the dupe conversation, but move it forward.

That is why we are excited to partner with Mykonos.

We believe the brand has the ingredients to make real noise in Britain: viral appeal, a strong digital identity, a broad range of scent styles, luxury-inspired direction, and a product line that fits perfectly into the way modern customers shop for fragrance. Based on its current positioning, Mykonos is not simply another budget fragrance label. It looks much more like a next-generation accessible luxury perfume brand. That is exactly the kind of brand we want to back.

A new chapter for perfume dupes in the UK

The dupe market in the UK is growing, but growth alone is not enough. The next brands to win will be the ones that combine affordability with brand heat, product depth and genuine excitement.

Mykonos has all three.

As more UK consumers move toward accessible, luxury-inspired scents, the opportunity is clear. This is not just about offering an alternative to expensive perfume. It is about building a better fragrance experience for a new generation of buyers: one that is trend-led, social-first, globally aware and still obsessed with quality.

That is the space Mykonos is stepping into.

And at Fragrance Forte, we plan to help lead that shift.

Mykonos Perfume is coming to the UK — and we believe it has everything it takes to disrupt the UK dupe game.
